Description

The Calm Before the Sack is the name given to this NFL painting of the man who coined the term “Sack” itself, #75, Deacon Jones, defensive end and Pro Football Hall of Fame legend who played eleven years for the Los Angeles Rams, two years for the San Diego Chargers, and one year for the Washington Redskins. Deacon Jones perfected the vicious move called the Headslap that was outlawed by the League when he retired, is credited with changing the game of defensive football single handedly, was voted unanimously to the NFL’s All Time 75 Year Team, and after his passing in 2013, is the only player in almost 100 years of the NFL for whom the NFL has created an award in his name that will live forever. You don’t need to be a fan of any team to love this NFL art. The entire feeling of this painting gives a sense of timelessness for all franchises and generations to enjoy.   It is an NFL painting of what the National Football League is all about—the very greatest legends of the game forever. It belongs in any man cave or as a sports art collector’s favorite piece of NFL memorabilia.
